Welcome to my LCH Science blog. Here you will find musings about what happens in the Science Lab. It is my absolute joy and privilege to instruct Science in this inaugural year. It is not often in education that you are given a blank slate (quite literally, an empty room with a hard floor, and lots of boxes of random Science equipment) and allowed to customize a program. I am so excited for this opportunity, and from the feedback I've received, the kids are as thrilled with coming to Science as I am creating the curriculum. The purpose of this class is to enrich the regular ed. Science already in place. With teacher collaboration, I design hands on lessons that tie in with what they are learning in class. A big part of Science is learning to work using the Scientific Method. We start touching upon concepts like questioning, forming hypothesizes, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions in kindergarten, and going deeper by grade level. It is my mission to prove that all students can be Scientists.
